South Park: The Stick of Truth

South Park: Stick of TruthFinally South Park: The Stick of Truth has been released! The creators of South Park, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, have been hard at work on this one for years, and it shows.

I’m a big fan of South Park, and I believe I’ve seen every episode, so naturally, this game was great for me. There are so many references, large and small, to shows from their almost 20 year history, and they are all hilarious! I’m not the kind to spoil anything, so I won’t, but if you’re at all a South Park fan, and not too easily offended, you’ve got to give this game a try.

You’re the new kid in town whose family just moved to South Park. I like this set up because it allows each character to be their true selves, instead of you controlling one of them, not giving you their full character. If you have seen the Black Friday trilogy of South Park episodes at the end of season 17, then the story will be familiar…well, at least the game the kids are playing. Cartman leads his group of humans (typical role playing characters of wizards, mages, and warriors), while Kyle is the leader of the wood elves.

If I talk about much in the game at all, I could be robbing you of a moment of out-of-control laughter for you, so I’ll stop there. The game is available on PS3, XBox 360, and PC.

So come on down to South Park and meet some friends of mine.
